Welcome to the September edition of CenterFocus,

As the summer months come to a close, things begin to heat up at the BCA.

Is it a bird?  Is it a plane?  No, it’s The Superheroine Monologues! Written by the dynamic duo of Rick Park and John Kuntz, this parody of super proportions takes center stage at the BCA September 10-26.  In this issue, we speak with the multi-talented Kuntz about this super show, girl power and his first cartoon crush.

Take an inside look at the Mills Gallery Drawing Show (September 11- October 25) with judge and master Illustrator Andrew Stein Raftery.  Andrew draws some conclusions about the art of illustration and the important role of drawing in the artists’ process.

Meet Miriam Shenitzer and David Brown, two of the BCA resident artists participating in the South End Open Studios September 19 and 20.

Need some quality time with your pooch?  Then check out our Howloween party for hounds and their humans on Saturday October 31.

Do you know an aspiring Steven Spielberg or a John Waters wannabe between the ages of 16 and 20?  Then be sure and check out the call for entries to our upcoming film festival.

Looking for something fun and free to do with the kids? Then read about out our Family Day workshops taking place on Saturday, September 19 from 1-3 pm.

In closing, I hope you enjoy a fun and productive fall season.  As always, we look forward to hearing your thoughts, feedback and suggestions.

Best,

Sean D. Horrigan
